I ordered the twin-over-twin with Trundle bunk bed in Walnut. Let me say to anyone looking for a quick review, this bed is amazing. The quality of the hardware and wood was above my expectations, then if you factor in the price, it’s also an amazing deal.Assembly: When I was researching this bed, this is probably where I saw the most negative comments. This bed takes time to put together, if you know that going into it set the right expectation then I think 90% of the complaints about assembly would be resolved. If you have a piece that is misaligned, try another identical piece to see if it fits better.Quality: This bed has a steel bar underneath the planks on both bunks. The bed is rated for 400lbs per bunk. The bed it was replacing from Ikea paled in comparison. The beds can be separated to make two twin size beds. The wood is solid wood that was stained not vinyl covered, I was very impressed. The design is very modular and very thoughtful, you can reverse or remove certain rails or sections to convert the bed into whatever orientation you would like.Negative: The only criticism I have, is the ladder has some screws that hold mounts to it, that connect it to the bed. Those screw holes needed to be either larger or deeper. The ladder began to split when I was tightening them down. I checked to see if the instructions said to drill out pilot holes. In the end I didn’t use all the screws because the ladder would have just split.Trundle: I have an 8” twin mattress on the trundle and it just barely fits underneath the bed. You wouldn’t be able to slide a made bed underneath unless you went with a 6” mattress. All in all, no big deal, but just to note.I also just want to say I was very impressed with the packaging of my bed. I was really concerned about broken parts and was anxious about inspecting it when it arrived. But it was perfect, Great Product!
